Just ran across this thread and all I can say is 'Wow'. Read the book, not the title. The title is misleading, in fact, the value of the book has nothing to do with endowments. The value is showing the importance of diversification and how to increase risk-adjusted returns using long term moving averages. The system has been out of sample since around 2005 and has done quite well, 2008 was a flat year if you had implemented the system versus 20, 30, 40% down for many buy and hold asset allocations.
I typically find the most successful people are those who have an intellectual curiosity and willingness to challenge their own long held beliefs and continue to learn.

Historical Data for Vanguard Funds prior to 1987?
Does anyone know where I can access either daily or ideally monthly data (high/low/open/close, if monthly) for Vanguard funds prior to 1987? Yahoo Finance has data going back to 1987, but I am trying to locate data prior to that. Specifically, I am interested in VFINX and would like to be able to export the data to excel.
