They've never closed it permanently.

Extended periods, yes, but OP shouldn't have the word permanently in the question.

Re: When Will the Momentum Kick In?

The math isn't hard, like others have posted just type it into a spreadsheet, momentum isn't some big surprise. What can vary is the rate of return you get but unless you were expecting something crazy like 25% then just punch it into a spreadsheet at a reasonable rate.

Re: Are You Dumping Netflix?

It's $1 a month extra, if that is enough to make you cancel then you were either looking for a reason at current price or probably shouldn't be subscribed if that $1 is going to break you.

Re: What to do with >$1000 in Amazon credits?

"Aren't you losing $150+doing this method? Doesn't seem very efficient." No, it's a flat $5 for shipping, no matter how many cards I added to my cart. But I didn't go all the way through with placing the order so I could be wrong. I recently used this method to liquidate some credit card points. In...

Re: What to do with >$1000 in Amazon credits?

Liquidate to cash by buying Stockpile gift cards. Then sell the stock and transfer the money to your bank account. I just put thirty three cards in my cart for a total of $988.35 with $4.49 shipping. It will be a bit of work setting up the account and punching in 33 codes from the gift cards. Maybe...

Re: New Vanguard Security Code Requirement

Hate to say it but I think Fidelity will require it at some point too. It is the way the industry is going and their priority should be the safety of your account. It may impact some people but it will make everyone's account much more secure.

Re: Amazon Prime Day 2018

The Fire TV 4K Streaming Media device is at $34.99 right now. That's the lowest price I've seen for that particular model -- it's been around $49 before, but this is definitely the lowest for a new non-refurb unit. Needless to say, I bought one. Can't wait to try it out on my new 4K tv. There is li...

Same reason why most people turn to prayer when times are bad and not when things are good.

New Update now had the 1 viewing of a movie total, probably in preparation for the Avengers movie. No more seeing the same movie more than once.

If something like this is enough to move your money to another place then you were probably looking to do it anyway.

Re: What big item (>20k) are you saving up for?

I am always surprised when I see someone younger wearing a watch. Wouldn't spend more than 50 bucks on a watch but to each their own. Just doesn't do enough for me to spend any kind of money when I can get one much cheaper that does the same thing. How about Fitness watch? I don't have a watch but ...
