I used to have my disability policy with MassMutual and the agent was able to get in writing that I could live outside the US and still collect benefits. That said, their customer service was slow to respond, agent was very much a salesman, responses back to the agent from the home office took fore...

Your agent is correct, Mass Mutual is the only company that doesn't have a clause in their contract restricting benefits while living outside of the US. However, if you are a foreign resident or travel to foreign countries often, they may place an amendment on the policy restricting benefits to 12 ...

About the absent of clause. Here's a clause I found from the internet on Guardian's policy: You must be living full time in the 50 United States of America, the District of Columbia or Canada in order to receive benefits under the Policy, except for incidental travel or vacation, otherwise benefits ...
