Here in Western Pennsylvania it's usually around $60/Gallon for real maple syrup. You should just drive across the border, as here in Ohio it goes for around $38/gallon. I'm in a similar position 61 and planning to retire at 65. If you are willing to go a little more risk (60/40). Take a look at Vanguard Balanced Index Adm (VBIAX). Very low fees also.

So after a year you walk away with over 5% gain after taxes. I'm fairly certain that would still be more than if you had placed it in a CD for one year. In my book take the money out because you need it but you are still ahead of the game. So I am not understanding your disappoint in the return.

I am pleased to say that my IRA monies finally arrived at SharonView today via postal mail from PenFed and that it was immediately deposited in our two 4% IRA CDs as promised. Thanks to the Reps at SharonView for their patience in getting this all done.

Take a look at Veka decking. Made in PA. I built a big deck out of it 10 years ago and was worth every penny. I would stay away from composites like Trex.
