Well, would not dissolving the trust holding your Grandpa's require the assets be paid out to the beneficiaries of that trust?

I'd invest the entire inheritance (keeps it separate property) But the income from the inheritance is community income....so take all investment income and use it to pay off debt...may take a little longer but keeps the inheritance separate property....
