Re: Tax ramification question

The CPA is probably looking for a possible wash sale of something you sold in the prior year. Also, your statement is correct about taxes being due other than the possibility you may need to increase withholding or make estimated payments as a result of the sale. Gill Doesn't make sense. A wash sal...

Re: Tax ramification question

This may be an obvious q/a, but just to double check: If I sell a mutual fund on the first day of 2019, any cap gains taxes would be due in 2020 for such a sale, correct? For example, I sell a fund on Jan 2, 2019. I would pay cap gains due with my taxes filed on Apr 15, 2020, correct? Or? For some ...

An umbrella policy covers more than just the underlying policies. Yes, they require personal injury to be added to a HO policy (libel/slander etc). What else does it cover that the underlying does not? 1. False arrest, detention or imprisonment; 2. Malicious prosecution; 3. Invasion of privacy, wro...

Isn't the 1.8% net of expenses meaning that is the actual yield you would get?
For example, if I have $1000 in a MM yielding 1.8%, I would collect $18 in interest at the end of 1 year. Am I right in my thinking?
