Re: Is a *new* Drivers License required for USA citizens who have a Passport?

You can fly using your passport regardless whether or not you have a drivers license. Applying for Global Entry status is a separate issue and the concern, as I understand it, is that NY either has or is proposing to issue drivers licenses to undocumented immigrants.

Re: Car I just sold caught on fire during transport

One consequence of the title change not being executed with the state is that you may receive next year’s registration and tax bill. Many states have a form allowing you to declare that you are no longer the owner should that occur. Been there, done that.

Re: Neighbor wants me to sell her my driveway but parking is tight. Detailed analysis help

When you bought your property, you knew it came with two parking spaces. When your neighbor bought her property, she knew it came with no parking spaces. I wouldn't let her problem become yours. But here is a suggestion that someone in our neighborhood did. My friends have 2 cars but a 1-car garage...

Re: Subrogation due to accident

Our insurance company (Westfield) advised us to file a claim through their insurance (American Family) as they thought the process would be a lot smoother. Well it hasn't been. This is why I have Amica, they don't abandon their customers. +1. Part of the service you pay for and your insurance compa...

Re: What do you do if you get in an accident?

Many insurance companies require that an accident be reported to them within 48 hours. Unsure why unless failure to do so could hamper their ability to defend a claim. Not saying that all accidents should necessarily be reported but give thought to the consequences of not reporting. If a month passe...

We chose HAL partially because they had a smaller ship which was permitted to dock in downtown Hamilton as opposed to the wharf. A street festival was literally outside our ‘front door’.

Re: Worth Fighting a Speeding Ticket?

Since you admit to exceeding the speed limit there is little point in hiring an attorney on such a minor charge. Expect court costs to be higher than expected. If this is a first offense you may be able to attend a traffic class and avoid points on your record.

Re: Anyone Having Trouble with PNC?

PNC also offers two factor authentication. However, while it does work on desktop you (and the bad guys) can still access your account on PNC mobile apps using only username and password. What’s the point of offering 2FA if it does not apply across all platforms???

Re: Do you tip the guys at Home Depot?

I'm fairly anti-tipping (at least anti-tipping-everyone-in-sight), but a little a while ago at Lowe's an associate helped me load a lot of bags of mulch into the car. He was maybe 16. I tried to tip him, he said he wasn't allowed to take it, so I stuffed it into his shirt pocket. I hope that didn't...

Pepper spray is effective because the tear duct of a dog drains inward instead of outward like ours. Spraying a charging dog is not always easy. Two lifetimes ago I worked as a police officer. Responding to a call to assist the dog warden I exited my cruiser only to be surprised by a rather larger g...
