Re: Small Cap Value Fans: "Morningstar's Take on the Third Quarter"

Avantis Investors has a short article regarding the valuation gaps between Large Growth and Small Value. This reminds me a lot of the late 1990's. Below is the link. https://www.avantisinvestors.com/content/avantis/en/insights/can-growth-stocks-get-growthier.html Thanks for the link. I wonder if th...

Re: Small Cap Value heads Rejoice !!!

In trying to further simplify, if I hold 50% AVUV, 40% AVDV, and 10% DGS, can I just dump the DGS allocation? I realize AVDV doesn't have emerging markets, but is the 10% really going to make that much of a difference? Or perhaps add a little AVEM at a much lower ER (even though it isn't small cap)...

I tilt to intl SCV from my existing international allocation, not my domestic. I have no intention of going 100% U.S. But you have to first decide even Intl allocation is needed. Expecting a 4% premium from Intl SCV stocks based on backtested data could be a big mistake. It certainly was for the past 25 years, as investors who tilted to Intl SCV taking away from US S&P 500 has trailed by -4% per annum. Interesting Economist article about value investing that concludes: It is possible that investors are simply overvaluing glitzy growth firms. Value stocks have been trampled before.
