Re: Millennial - invest in bonds at all?

I hold 80/20 asset allocation and make bi monthly contributions DCA, makes me sleep well at night knowing if sh*t hits the fan I dont have to sell stocks, also 80/20 are not far off from 100% equities with less risk.

Re: Rolex

Bought a 1:1 replica of a Rolex Submariner date with correct sweep motion and weight from DHgate for 80 bucks. I wear it everyday and get numerous compliments and the jeweler who removed the links couldn't even tell the difference. Save your hard earned money and just buy a replica. They are so far...

Hey guys I have currently have my Emergency fund in the Wellesley fund at 33k (30k + 3k if it drops 10 percent). What would be the tax complications if I don't add anymore more to it and let it sit for like 10 -20 years and don't sell it. I also currently contribute 30k a year (2500k a month) to vts...

Using Wellesley Fund as a bond alternative

Hey guys was getting your input on using the Wellesley fund 35:65 stock/bonds as my bond fund. Currently contribute $2500 a month to VTSAX ($30k yearly) and $250 a month to Wellesley which also houses my emergency fund of $30k so around 3k a year to that. I would be able to take the risk of a 10 per...

Re: Who uses the 3 fund portfolio ?

2 fund portfolio

VTSAX + Wellesley (Bond fund on steroids)

Wellesley houses my emergency fund and acts as bond fund, I am willing to take a 10% loss if we have another 2008 but also get more than a bond fund

Re: Do bonds make sense if you are more than 10 years from retirement?

Bonds provide very valuable stability to a portfolio. If you only focus on return but losing sight on risk, that is not a balanced view. This probably isn't the best time to look at bonds as "stable," but I understand your meaning. :-) The point is, if your time horizon is 20+ years out, ...
