Re: Roth Conversion Paying Taxes with IRA?
To help, age is 60+ so the penalty won't apply. The total conversion expected is to go from 100% to about 94%/6% traditional/roth and probably stay there. Expect to use funds from roth after traditional ira is finished so at least 20+ yrs time horizon if not longer. Also considering putting more ris...

Roth Conversion Paying Taxes with IRA?
I'm about ready to convert a Traditional IRA to Roth IRA because I believe the world will be a much richer place in the future compared to now. The tax brackets will be the same. Panning to pay the taxes with the Traditional IRA. But doing some research lately, nearly every single mainstream article...

Re: Medicare.gov Part D Drug Plan Accuracy?
For thoroughness, I entered every drug combination on Silverscript Drug Quotes and the price varied wildly. It got to the point where I asked myself, what is the difference between a Tier 1, 2, and 3 drug when some Tier 3 drugs was quoted cheaper then Tier 2 drugs. I don't understand any of this exc...

I don't know about this year but back in 2017 when I was doing my mothers, I found that by changing the pharmacy and looking at the details, I could get a better deal on one Tier III drug. The deal was better than any of the "Preferred Pharmacies" listed. After I signed her up, I had the ...

Medicare.gov Part D Drug Plan Accuracy?
I was using the Medicare Part D comparison site to check on which provider had the lowest annual plan cost. The result was the SilverScript Choice (PDP). This story should have ended there. Except I noticed an issue. One of the drugs in the SilverScript Choice plan was a Tier III Generic Drug. The p...

I was warned about talking about economics and global news so I'm not sure how to ask this question. For a diversified portfolio with growth, how do you choose between VT vs VTI (and equivalent) without thinking about economics? What is the Boglehead way to think about these two choices? If I had to...

Re: Computershare Transfer Question
From the replies here, it looks like Vanguard has a mixed reputation when transferring from Computershare.
Vanguard is requesting a lot of paperwork with 3-4 weeks estimated transfer time. This is a direct registration transfer. It might be better to use another broker for this transfer.
