Based on the exceptionally valuable feedback I've received on this forum I would suggest the following. View your entire portfolio as a single unit and co-ordinate asset allocation across all parts. Hi, The following link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_stock_exchanges shows the top 20 global stock exchanges giving market capitalization date. For these top 20 exchanges total market cap is approximately $78 trillion with $31 trillion being held by the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ.

Weighted Average for the AA given would be 0.101% so cheaper than the Targeted fund.

Also the AA in the Vanguard 2045 is 90:10 Stock:Bond while you are currently at 66:34 with the separate funds.

Adding more information: We do have an HSA through wife's work, currently it is being funded to the annual maximum (50% her 50% company match). It's balance is at $15K currently sitting just in the plans Money Market account. I took a look at the investment options available and the plan listed 104!...
