Re: How to Analyze Sweet Spot on Insurance Deductibles - Challenging my Preconceived Notions
If I had no collision I would have had to probably pay $7000 for two accidents that weren’t my fault. That's only true if it were an unknown person who was at fault. If you're in an accident and get the information, you can make a claim directly with the at fault person's insurance company. Where y...

Re: Advice needed for paypal transaction
Make aure that you ship only to the paypal verified shipping address, if you do noy you are not covered under their protection. Since he overpaid for the item I would make sure to ship it with signature confirmation as an additional layer of protection for you. This will prevent him from opening an ...

Re: Need to shop insurance: curious what you have?
I use Ameriprise (costco) for personal and Cincinnati for business.
I shopped around 2 years ago and ended up with these 2. I will probably shop around again in a year or so. Have seen very little in increase over the 2 years.

Re: Hotel $50-500/night Expectations
I remember stopping at a motel 6 on our way to Florida when I was growing up and it was the first time I saw a sign advertising hourly rates.

Re: Hotel $50-500/night Expectations
Can't find any links advertising the price, but I've payed between $49.99 and $69.99 for Motel 6 in San Luis Obispo / Pismo Beach California in late winter / early spring. Not exactly the nicest hotel, but not bad, and a really nice/safe area. Again, please include the website/url to the specific h...

Re: Purchasing Airline Tickets
Norwegian non stop may 6-18th $345 round trip. We are flying Norwegian to London in June, but ate taking icelandair on the way home to do an Icelandic stopover. Be careful with Norwegian, the advertised fares are really bare-bones and everything you can think of is extra: seat assignment, meals, lu...

Re: NYC restaurant suggestion
We enjoyed Michael's on 55th for Italian Blue Hill for farm to fork and Momofuku Ko for Asian.
Other suggestions would be way above posted budget (La Bernardin, Per Se, Daniel & Eleven Madison Park)

Re: Honda Pilot vs Toyota Highlander?
We picked up a 2017 Pilot Touring 2 months ago and love it. We liked the 3rd row space, 20" wheels plus the blue ray rear entertainment. We got the pilot for $1500 less than same level highlander and had a few added features mainly the rear entertainment.

Re: Do people still use AAA?
We have used AAA for the last 10 years or so. Has came in handy on multiple occasions (flat tires, dead battery, locked keys and a couple of tows). For us its a small amount of money for piece of mind and generally we will save enough in discounts at various places to pay for the membership.

Re: Price of haircut?
I auto pay $30 a month for "unlimited" cuts. I go twice a month and service includes shaving my head and neck, shampoo and a roughly 10 minute scalp massage. I tip $5 each time. Is this at a franchise/chain store, or a local establishment? Very interested. She first started cutting my hai...

Re: What's the point of auto loan pre-approvals?
Are you looking at a purchasing a new or used vehicle? If you are looking at used this makes perfect sense as the interest rate will change based upon the age of the car and the duration of the loan.

Re: Costco for tires and car insurance?
I can't speak to changing from winter to spring but I can say we have gotten our last few sets of tires via costco and have had no problems. Rotations and hazard included. Service has always been great. We shopped around our home and auto insurance and had switched to Ameriprise through costco a cou...
