Re: My LenderFi refinance is going well

Anyone that refinanced earlier in the summer, has applied for Refi yet? I settled earlier on a 2.75 on 20Yr loan without points. The rate seems to be lower now (per loan depot). Dont remember seeing any cool-off period before I can refi - so checking with others to see if it might be worth it now or...

Re: Solving HSA tax inefficiencies (California)

I was lucky to get VFIAX in my employer sponsored HSA and have been putting everything in this. I never thought of this - Will CA tax medical reimbursements from HSA in retirement? :( CA will tax capital gains when you sell a mutual fund within the HSA in order to be able to withdraw cash. It won't...

Re: Spousal Roth IRA - Backdoor

I take it you are filing "MJF" and that is were based on income you are ineligible to contribute directly to Roth IRA. If true, under this situation both you and your spouse can contribute to your respective discrete traditional IRAs to the max and do immediate (backdoor) conversion on both to Roth ...

Re: Paying BofA credit card bill online?

While I agree 100% that BoA's website (specifically their autopay functionality) is the worst I've seen in my life by a large margin, the Finance Buff's guide helped me set it up correctly and I haven't had problems since: https://thefinancebuff.com/autopay-bank-america-credit-card.html Between my ...

Re: What is the best company for auto/property/renters/umbrella insurance?

Geico. I switched my auto, home, umbrella policies from USAA to Geico about two years ago. I saved about 50%. Geico's service has been excellent. In addition, my auto rates went down in the last year. When I switched to Geico I got quotes from many other companies. Overall Geico had the best prices...

Re: My LenderFi refinance is going well

Mine closed and the loan is serviced still by LenderFi. They have bought off the shelf package form some company to support the service - nothing to get excited about. But boy that website makes you want to refi immediately.

Re: My LenderFi refinance is going well

LenderFI called back yesterday, saying they could offer 2.625% without escrow. However, I'm already proceeding with Better.com at 2.75% no fees or escrow + $2500 AMEX statement credit. I figure I could refinance again in a few months if rates fall, which seems like they are. looks like the rates ha...

I have had good luck with eneloop brand :beer its Ni-Mh, not the Ni-Cd type. It retains charge for longer duration when unused compared and are more expensive than the regular rechargeable ones.

I think the OP intention was privacy and not Security - Google is competent with security aspects but show least concern for privacy.

Two good options have already been listed above: protonmail and tutanota. Both offer free tier to see if its something you might like at the end. :sharebeer

Re: Refinance Mega Thread

Thanks for the information fellow BH's: I decided to pursue a refi offer through LenderFi based on valueable inputs from various members. Following the acceptance on a 20yrs terms (@2.75), uploading some requested documentation: it has been radio silence from LenderFi. Is this normal level of service?

Thank you FiveK, Lakpr, anon_investor for your valuable inputs. Upon revisiting the aforementioned, I have decided to stay put in its place itself. Re: Minivan - Safety

Why no love for Chrysler Pacifica here? Its a decent mini-van and comes with lot of bells & whistles as you move up the line. It has same safety rating as Odyssey and better than Sienna. When not hauling full, the seat even folds in-place which is great feature IMHO.

The win 3.1 before that was 6 or 7 floppy disks IIRC.

former employer 410K to Rollover IRA Vs current employer

All, Longtime reader, first time post. The funds in former employer plan are limited and the expense ratios are relatively ...
