Re: Where's Warren Buffett During This Crisis?

He's probably a bit unsure right now since he said in an interview that he's never seen a situation like this. I wonder in what way he has never seen a situation like this. He was born in 1930, when he was 10 years old he had to go through the 2nd world war for 5 years. Hasn't he said he bought his...

Re: When does purchasing Umbrella Insurance Coverage makes sense?

I noticed my net worth was approaching the limits on my auto and renters policy and ended up buying an umbrella policy. I probably should have done it sooner. It's only $13 a month or so. What does net worth have to do with coverage amount? If your net worth is $300k and your coverage is $500k, wha...

I would bet that if there was true hyperinflation in the US (and not just using inflation in as hyperbole), nobody here is going to have a portfolio that will withstand that. squirm, Some people with a significant position in Gold/Silver will do very well. You will lose your bet. KlangFool perhaps....

If I have a stash in a safety deposit box, I can probably get to it before total pandamonium breaks loose. And, if I have such a stash, I'll be comparatively very wealthy to those who don't. I didn't look up a link but I am pretty sure that when owning gold in the US was made illegal in the 1930s t...

its gambling is what it is, no different from putting your money on red. if it comes up red youre a winner. but you had no way of knowing that it would come up red (or black or double zero). nothing wrong with gambling, especially if you win and it can be fun, even if you loose as long as you unders...
