Re: U.S. stocks in freefall

its hard not to stare at your portfolio in times like this when the market takes a nose dive. actually thats why i dont stare and thus avoid the worry. someone said, 'the time to buy is when there's blood in the streets' i guess thats market timing though.. i maxed my 401k this year, i hope the mark...

Re: Biggest Threats to Financial Well-Being

Black Swan event Don't know what or when or if it will happen. Nassim Nicholas Taleb taught me this. Robustness is about all you can do. So stay healthy, have money in the bank, have good social networks, carry little or no debt..even then, may not be enough. black swan event... yellowstone blows, ...

Re: Would you allow your car stereo to run USB debug mode on your android phone?

i do some android programming on the side. i plug my smartphone into my computer and use debug mode to 'debug' code. im scratching my head trying to figure out why an application would want to do that (your car stereo). once hooked up this way, the stereo will have full access to your phone and ever...

Re: Peloton spin bike worth the high cost?

Help with balancing moving into bonds

Goal: to allocate more retirement deferred taxable accounts to bonds. to simply retirement accounts (and perhaps taxable accounts). I am considering moving some/all of my IRA at American Funds to Vanguard due to the lesser expense fees. The taxable accounts there would result in a significant taxabl...

for a sep ira for the 1099, is the nuance that i am the 'employer' and the amount i put in is not considered a 'salary deferral' by an employee, but rather a contribution by the employer?

Re: SEP IRA and 401k (w2 and 1099) questions
