Re: Not convinced with insurance

Typically umbrella insurance requires you to have some other underlying policy with the company. I've seen cases where a company will require you to have auto insurance with them in order to sell you an umbrella policy (which is what you found), but I've also seen cases where a company will require ...

Depends if it is a attached or detached garage and their style.
It's an attached garage, but there is no part of the house above the garage. The house style is a colonial with a farmers porch.

Re: Budgets: how do you track irregular income and expenses

I do a pretty detailed budget every year, but things are broken down so I can see the monthly numbers. I haven't found a tool that I like/can customize to the degree that I want to control things or present the information the way I want to see it. So, I use Excel and I do some semi-fancy formulas a...

Roth 401k vs Pre-tax 401k

My employer offers two options for contributing to a 401k. Option 1 is the "regular" pre-tax 401k (I get to contribute pre-tax dollars from my paycheck to the account). Option 2 is a Roth 401k (I get to contribute after-tax dollars from my paycheck to the account). Please note that this question is ...
