Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses

Schwab actually has it's first bonus in a while for existing customers https://www.schwab.com/public/schwab/nn/investor_reward.html Not that great, the Schwab referral bonus I linked to earlier is better in some ways, but that may only hold for new to Schwab customers. Two questions... (1) Which br...

Re: Best Fidelity Money Market Account to Hold Cash?

So it seems like, at least for someone like me who's in the 24% federal and 9.3% state brackets in California, FZDXX is far and away the best option, and if you don't have $100k sitting around in cash, FDLXX and SPRXX are the best options without minimum investment requirements. Very interesting po...

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses

Paperwork? I've never received anything like that. Was there a number, and was it more than the new money? This last bonus had paperwork attached and there is specific phrasing in one section, here: Customer's Account will have a minimum balance of $__...

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses

I have shares at E-Trade that will soon reach the minimum holding period to avoid a clawback and I'm debating between (1) moving it to Ally, Merrill, or TD Ameritrade for another bonus or (2) moving more money into E-Trade (about 1/2 the amount that is there now) for another bonus if E-Trade is will...

Re: Move 401(k) to IRA after retirement?

You need to look through all of the funds in your 401(k) yourself and see if there are better options than whatever this person is recommending. See if you have cheap options for a US stock fund, an international stock fund, and a bond fund. Read https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Three-fund_portfolio ...
