Re: Working for a municipality

Re-post: The folks here who have worked for munis, or the like, any tips on acing the interview? This job is WAY out of my league, I have the years of experience and the knowledge but lack the management experience they prefer. I have no doubt I can help the department succeed and lead the people w...

any experiencing using redweek to timeshare rentals

I am looking to rent a vacation place for a week. This property is entirely made up of timeshares. Having been there before I know the property and its offerings. Looking for rentals (to use NOT BUY) I see some on redweek. Has anyone ever used this website for a timeshare rental?

Re: New roof - does this ridge vent look right?

My attic is not one that I could easily or safely walk around in, but should I make an attempt to go up there and inspect for any water? You can hire a home inspector to go up there and look around. If he finds water damage, have him take photos for you. He will give you a written report. That way,...

Re: Periodontist - Tissue Grafts

Did they tell you why this might be occurring? Is it due to something you're doing like brushing too hard? Is it just cosmetic?Anyways, the best thing is to get a couple opinions, quotes, and get it done if it will save your teeth. I would just go to someone that is reputable. Could be happening du...

Periodontist - Tissue Grafts

My main dentist on my visit six months ago advised me of receding gum. On my recent appointment, it was mentioned again. He doesn't do any corrective procedures in this field but has someone come into his office to do it. In the last few days I went for a second opinion of someone who has an office ...

Re: Considering iPad to replace failing Nexus tablet

The android tablet market is shrinking. Go with the iPad and download apps from google including gmail and the transition should be easy. Do you have any hard facts about your claim? Before we figure this is fanboy material.... http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-ios-market-share-us-europe-japan-2...

Time to open another credit card line?

Every once in awhile, my credit utilization goes to around 5%. This causes my credit score to take a hit by about 10 points. I could just prepay the credit card and prevent that, though I dont want to. Getting another credit card would cause my credit utilization to go down. Is this the best thing t...

Re: Garage door opener on last leg

If you garage has a torsion spring (is mounted to front wall) instead of the stand springs along the side tracks, I would look into a jackshaft opener.

Re: Email address compromised - HELP!!!

Compromised means that someone has access to your account. If you feel someone has access, change your password ASAP. From the information provided it appears that someone just used your email account to sign up for a bunch of services. Are any of the companies big ones? Can you call them up and see...

Re: Phone Techies .....

From the features you listed, you would be fine with previous gen iphone. Possibly visit an apple store or your carrier and see if they offer a trade in allowance for your 5s and any deals they might have. Also visit ebay and see what you can get an iphone 6/6s/7 for.

Great post on the financial savings. I bring my lunch to work almost everyday. One downside is networking. Do you feel not going out with everyone you are impeding your career?

Re: Keep or let go of my car?

Like others are saying I would get ANOTHER opinion. The blown turbo searching around doesnt appear to be common on the 528. I had a BMW with the n54 and those are known to have an issue with the turbos. Additionally some of the prices you posted are outrageous. If you're handy and have a few hours th...

Investment Advice Needed.

Hello Bogleheads. I'm seeking advice on what to do with a few non-taxable accounts I have. Currently I have two accounts with TD Ameritrade and one with vanguard. When I was younger I opened the TD Ameritrade account to try and actively trade stocks. As I got older, time became scarce and I have pre...
