RMDs in a falling market?

I've never given much thought to how to take RMDs in a falling market simply because I never had to. But now I might. So if you want to maintain a fixed/equity ratio of 50-50, and your portfolio was say $350k, and the capitalized value of your SSA was $350K (and he says it is commonly in that range), then you should put a...

What alternatives are there to bonds to keep a balanced portfolio.

Dollar Cost Averaging at age 70+?

My wife and I are both 70 1/2. My RMDs are reinvested in a mutual fund. My wife is giving her RMDs to our children and asking them to use those funds to pay down their college debt. I have overly sufficient Emergency Funds. No debt. Social Security and Pensions are more than adequate to cover living...

Preparing for RMD

My wife will need to take an RMD 2017. About half of her Vanguard IRA is in Target Retirement Date funds. She is reinvesting Distributions.

Should she start directing her dividend distributions to a Money Market Account within her IRA and take the RMD payout from that account?
