Re: Losing a job in your 50's...

I used to work in HR at various companies and when layoffs occur ageism can definitely be a factor. Usually because upper management believes we can hire a bunch of young people and pay them very little while working them to death. I saw many older highly compensated employees laid off because they ...

I am also an audiophile. I ripped all of my CD's to FLAC uncompressed format and loaded everything to my Auralic Aries Mini. It is a great music server for only $500. I have Paradigm Tribute 30th Anniversary floor standing speakers ($4,800) that sound great. These are hooked up to a digital class D...

Re: Should reliability rankings eliminate Jeep Grand Cherokee?

At least it is not rated as bad as Landrover normally is at the bottom, although that does. To stop people from buying them. My friend bought too Land Rovers Range Roger Autoiography editions in a row and the first year they spent 4 and 5 months in the shop. The second one died on the freeway and al...

Re: Persuading HR to expedite benefits set up?

As someone who worked in HR Benefits for quite a while, I can tell you that for the most part there is no way to speed things up. If it is like the companies I worked at in the past everything is controlled by electronic feeds that go from the employer to the benefits providers. These feeds usually ...

You might also consider the Acura RDX I liked it better than the Lexus NX.mi really like the new redesign that just came out. They are very reliable. If you need larger I would go with the Lexus RX over the Acura MDX it is much better.

You might also consider the Acura RDX it just had a redesign and looks really great. It is slightly cheaper than the NX. I drove an NX. It did not really like it, I like the RDX much better, plus it is larger, more cargo space.

If you have to get a picture taken for the win just hold up the big check covering your face. Then no one can see your face. I think I read it has been done before.

Another good choice although not as sporty looking I’d a Mercedes e63s with 603hp. My friend has one and it is very nice inside with the latest tech and safety features. Otherwise maybe a 911 or Panamera would be better and more reliable than Maserati.

Re: Ashley furniture experience? 2000 dollars for 13x8x8 sectional

I agree Ashley Furniture is very poor quality run far away from this junk. Other bad brands are rooms to go, bel, the room store, etc. Ethan allen makes good quality furniture, other good brands for couches are Hancock and Moore (pricey), Theodore Alexander is good too. The below link is a great gui...

No on the Land Rover I have had 2 in the past and their reputation for being unreliable is very deserved. They both spent the way too much time at the dealer. I live in Houston, but used to work in the Woodlands. It is a nice and forested area, there are six different types of poisonous snakes that live in the woodlands including the coral snake. It depends on where you live, here in humid Houston bamboo does not do well. I have had three different friends have to replace it due the all of the contraction and expansion that causes buckling and huge gaps. They went with engineered hardwood the second time and it held up great. Several stores ...

Century cornerstone quality is not worth $9k, it is overpriced versus the quality of the furniture, like restoration hardware. I would go with something from Hancock and Moore or Theodore Alexander. Both companies allow you to customize the leather or fabric and are excellent quality. I have found t...
