I'm 6'7'', and the 6 year old fits fine behind me for any trip less than an hour. The 3-year old and her huge carseat sit behind my wife on the passenger side. We also have a minivan, but we find ourselves driving the Model 3 for anything around town.
It's the best car I've ever owned. It accelerates like a rocketship. Try your kids in it. If they like it, it's worth the sacrifice.

Hi BGF, As a mental exercise, I like to try to think about alternate approaches to a problem I'm currently working on to help me understand my bias or blindspots. Today's problem is preparing for the (probable) upcoming recession. I know my personal context, assumptions, and strategy, but I'm hoping BH can help me think outside the box. For instance, if i were a speculator, how would I act in the next 2 years? What are some serious alternate strategies to the BG philosophy concerning recession preparedness? I sold ALL equities in Jan2018. My current portfolio is short term treasuries, TIPs, gold, and cash (plus a large short position- Tesla). to those that asked . . . . I do not play poker- I take money from the casino (not other players). I play video poker (machines) when the pay table and cash-back makes it worthwhile. But it's mostly hole-carding, ace tracking, some straight counting, and occasional edge sorting (hard to believe opportunities still exist). But nearly half of my profits have come from loss rebates, and a few other things I need to keep to myself. It's actually pretty easy to beat the casino. But you have to do it while looking like a typical moron ploppy, otherwise the casino will kick you out. Contrary to what most believe, nearly every game is beatable. OP- it's your call, but I'd recommend that you reduce stock exposure. Roughly 0% seems about right (+ or - 0).
That's what I did in Jan2018 and my portfolio has performed very well since then. There will come a day that you can get back into stocks at substantially lower prices (far, far lower than the Dec lows).
