Clearwater Beach as it's very walkable, has a variety of restaurants, shops, bike rental (though in August I wouldnt) and of course the beach! No car needed just Uber from TPA.

Look at the gasket around the lid/door. Look for splits, warping, poor contact etc.... Relatively cheap and easy to replace. But as said, at 12 years old you might be better off just replacing.

It's funny, these places used to have "tip jars" now its automated with the "suggested tip" or "tip amount" indicated on the the touchpad or receipt. Ugh..... My approach, no tip.

If you feel that you need to wear something nicer when checking into the hotel, look into the availability of an arrival lounge where you can grab a shower and breakfast and change your clothes upon arrival. +1 , And in reality no will care how you dress on the flight.
