Many smart tstats include a "C" wire adapter with them or the adapter can be bought separately. Its easy to install.

OP, though they are mostly set and forget, a consideration for those getting older is the readability of the tstat display. Some tstats are better than others in this regard.

Another option is to ask a neighbor, providing the homes are close enough, if you can run a properly sized extension cord from their home to the work area, then use a/c powered lighting of your choice.

It's a vehicle with very good reliability. All things being equal, the 2017 with the added safety features would be my choice. That is, after getting a Carfax and a independent inspection.

Assuming other model years are similar, the 2016 CRV AWD manual states the following,
"It is best to replace all four tires at the same time. If that isn’t possible, replace the front or rear tires in pairs."

To add, if the taxes are paid through escrow, be sure your mortgage servicer pays it. Double check with where your tax payment is to be sent, that it's actually been paid. Unfortunately paperwork issues, funds applied to the wrong account, etc .. occur. Stay on top of it.

While hiking I assume you'll have your cell phone. Use it with bluetooth earbuds. I use this to listen to my downloaded music library stored on a SD card, it works great.
