ZROZ @ 0.15% ER. ZROZ had no cap gains to distribute this year vs EDV distributing 3% of NAV (~1/3 short term).

Re: My LenderFi refinance is going well

Update: My loan was funded on Friday (11/13) and my existing loan was paid off on 11/17. About ~47 days from start (Oct 2) to finish. Overall, the process was smooth, but I do see how some folks who require a bit more 'touch' would be put off by the process. Generally speaking, between steps in the ...

Yes. My first LE in the initial disclosures I signed was 2.75%. When I received my lock paperwork, my "locked' LE showed 2.625%.

someone told me that what Lenderfi quotes you initially is higher than what their actual rates are when you lock. Does anyone know what the spread is? My online quote was 30y @ 2.875%. The rate on my initial LE was 2.75%. I spoke with someone one the phone to double-check that I had the no-cost opt...

Verbally locked 2.625%, appraisal waived, no cost, 30y. Brad @ Lenderfi has been great to work with so far. Will post an update when everything closes.

Re: USPS Package Odd Routing

We ship out ~100k boxes a year across Big 3 carriers in the US. This happens more often than you’d think (No matter the carrier). Lots of stuff is automated, but in the majority of sort and distribution centers, it all depends on a certain cart of pre-scanned boxes being loaded on the correct truck....

She just gave you an out by cutting her offer 50%, take the out.

Say you’re available for advice and want to help out as much as you can, but can’t commit to the project in an official capacity.

Solar99999 and ManhattanTrnsfr,

Thanks for responding. Particularly helpful as I'm starting an NY 529 this year for my son.

Re: Would an NY 529 contribution reduce city income taxes?

Googling around (as this is of interest to me as well), the total lack of any mention of NYC on any literature involving the NYS 529 leads me to believe the answer is 'no'.

Edit: I'm (thankfully) incorrect according to the two posts below.

Re: My Favorite Alternative Funds

Larry Swedroe had some thoughts on alt allocation in April, which I feel add to the discussion (He was/is 2:1 LENDX:SRRIX): Stone Ridge etc. say these are risky investments. Well yes [SRRIX, LENDX] are risky investments, and that wording is what SEC requires of course. And certainly not SUBSTITUTE f...

As an update, I spoke with a Vanguard 'complicated retirement representative' (seriously) and they said there would be no issue withdrawing the contributions with the plan in my previous post.

Thank you all for pointing me in the right direction.

Issue With Non-Deductible tIRA contribution, Solo 401k Rollover

Bogleheads, This month I opened a Solo 401k at Fidelity for my consulting business. I have already made a $5,500 contribution to my tIRA earlier this year, as I was unsure if I would be opening the solo 401k. Last week, I transferred my tIRA assets into the solo 401k. I didn't know that my Vanguard ...

Re: Larry Swedroe: Alternative Lending Has Many Benefits

Re-insurance risk can be gained by buying cat bonds. My bigger question with these markets is: does it make sense to own them over the long term. These markets are analogous to high yield debt in that most successful investors are invested only occasionally not over the long term. Hi Packer, Larry ...

Move Roth Principle To Traditional Solo 401k

Bogleheads, I have ~$30,000 in principle that I could withdraw from a Roth IRA. We're currently in a HCOL area, with State+City income taxes around 8%, but are moving to a lower cost of living area (with no state income tax) at the beginning of the year. I would be able to contribute all of the Roth...

Re: What advice to give 21 year old?

Tomahto, I've seen it posted here that changes to AA should be contemplated with extreme care, lest we rationalize market timing. Is your son contemplating more bonds because the market is 'frothy'? This may be a great opporotunity to discuss asset allocation, and more importantly, choosing an alloc...
