All at once or bit by bit?
Hi, I am in the process of moving cash (about $150,000) into VBIAX from a checking account. The question is, keeping the seemingly inflated market in mind, is it best to invest it all in one shot or better to invest it over a span of time, say $10,000-$20,000 per month or something like that? Any th...

Great. I accept. That explains why I was suggested the hybrid solution.
Many thanks to all.

Re: How to read this graph comparing mutual funds?
You hit the nail on the head. I meant VFIAX but I transposed the A and I. I was recommended on this list to switch my VFIAX to VBIAX but now that I see the past performance, isn't it better to leave it where it is because over time VFIAX does better? You mention to choose the funds based on strategy...

How to read this graph comparing mutual funds?
Hi, If you take the time to click on this link https://www.google.com/finance?q=VBIAX&ei=tVJ4WZGYEsGCsgGshZOQDg and add VSCGX, VFAIX , VSMGX in the "compare" text box (you need to do add each symbol one at a time), google produces a graph comparing the 4 mutual funds. My question is, t...

Re: Need investing advice
Perhaps your are correct but what do I gain from it? Where to put the money? I already have cash that is not being utilized to the fullest. It is true that I do not have much of an income right now so I should keep more cash that I'd otherwise would, but perhaps it's better to keeps things where the...

Re: Need investing advice
FYI, the monthly expenses might be a bit higher. Let us say 3k just to be conservative. The VFAIX is in a regular brokerage account at Vanguard Below is 4 of 25 options at my 401k. Most do not seem to be a contender based on their past 10/5/1 years performance. These seem to be the top performers ov...

Re: Need investing advice
FYI, I looked at my holdings and updated my original post. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts as since I do not have employment, I would like to do that best that I can with the given scenario.
Thank you

@dbltrbl
Why do you say that? Why not to invest now? Also, if I'd find something, then where to put how much?
