Re: Best fire monitoring system -ADT?

Thanks everyone. Will check out alarm relay. We are on a well also so that is also a concern to consider. Will speak to a friends husband who is a fireman and see what he suggests.

Best fire monitoring system -ADT?

So we have had ADT for years. It has gotten expensive for monitoring and the system is likely outdated. I have them coming out to give an estimate for going wireless and monthly monitoring-want to see what I can get cost wise on a new contract. We basically need fire monitoring. We are on a dead end...

Re: Managing Life with a Sick Kid

If possible I encourage you to enlist family/church for any help possible. It is important to get out occasionally and not lose sight of your marriage or any other children. If grandparents/relatives can step up and help that can make a big difference. If there are other children they can get lost i...

Re: Cartier bracelet

Does it have to be Cartier? Consider hi end auction houses that offer a lot of jewelry and are reputable. There are the obvious NY ones but Grogan in Boston handles a lot of nice stuff as well.

Re: Advising young adult on pharma career-Phd?

Thanks for everyones suggestions. Another friend also suggested the data analytics masters. We are mostly trying to stay out of things while she meets with various mentors to better allow her to figure things out on her own but it is helpful having some ideas to throw out. I do think it is difficult...

Advising young adult on pharma career-Phd?

Hoping other wise bogleheads might offer career advice as I am out of my depth giving suggestions. Our middle child graduated with a business degree heavy in finance and concurrently took most of the needed pre-med classes at a prestigious LAC down the street through a joint program. She primarily f...

Re: Tick Prevention for Dogs

Veterinarian here. I use Nexgard for my own dogs but given the time of year try to stay out of hi risk areas. MA must be bad as my daughter just reported severe problems with her horse in spite of regular tx-she is in RI. The seresto collar is also quite good. Be extremely careful for your safety as...

What section of Rome would everyone recommend we look for an apartment. Plan on doing tours in the morning before things get busy and then going back for a brea...

Vacation insurance when you have sick elderly family

So most trip insurance seems aimed for disasters or you break your leg and can't take your trip. But what do you do when you have elderly parents in declining health. We are going abroad in October and part of it is not refundable after a certain date. My mother has dementia which is advanced. She c...

Re: Babson College

My daughter currently attends Babson and will be a senior. She has strong relationships with her teachers/deans and has enjoyed that aspect. The student body is very international and quite wealthy and she has friends all over the world. The students that do well have very good job placement/salarie...
