Maybe I missed it, but curious how he is contributing $40k annually to a 401k?
Even if you mean $40k total to both a 401k and roth401k, I believe the annual limit to each (at your age) is $19.5k, $39k total. Is your employer granting 100% match?

They're wong about it not being tied to direct deposit. It requires $1000/month in direct deposits to maintain the 2.5%. When you don't meet this requirement you get a message like this. Hopefully that means they are misinformed and wrong in the rest of their statement... Thank you for choosing USAA...

I have the top tier of their insurance and recently used both policygenius and gabi to shop for auto and home rates. Both services came back that I had a better rate than anything they could find. ...
