After looking at the savers tax credit more thoroughly, I've realized while eligible, we would only get 10% or if we're lucky (cause we would be right on the line) 20% of the $2000 possible. I was just up in Toronto last week. The zoo is a bit far from downtown, but was excellent. Casa Loma was amazing, definitely recommend visiting there. The CN tower will only take up a little time so you could probably fit Casa Loma and the CN tower in your day. Have fun!

I have called Vanguard a few times with some questions, and they were always extremely helpful and pleasant. Best customer service experience I've ever had over the telephone by far.

We don't really budget. We max out IRAs, the 401k and 403b. After running some numbers, we seem to save about 50% of our income. I'd say about 18 to 20% goes to various taxes. The other 30% is what we pay bills, buy stuff, and have fun with.
