Re: 45k job out of college and no expenses - please help me manage my money

Good for you, Roth, matching etc.etc. I always kept it simple, as in 10% of anything I made ( mostly $30 per week ) I saved and that was split in two, 50% savings/cash (also which could be investments ) and 50% retirement ( Roth ). Doesn't sound like much but it works ! I never made more than 36k bu...

Retired. AA is 50/40/10(cash). Modest pension and SS, I could get by on pen./SS. I use TotlStkMkt(let it keep rolling in a Roth) and TBM ( some monthly income). My mantra is "twenty years, always think of investments in 20 year timelines." Helps me back away from the ledge. :-D

I agree with the "mixed bag" crowd. When wirecutter raves about misc. items, I check the reviews from other places on such items and wirecutter can be off target for some. Example, towels that wirecutter raved about and reviewers thought were way over priced and poor quality. I think Amazon et.al. i...

Been there done that. I just ask for a seperate check. Otherwise, you always get screwed... badly. Don't bother with all these formulas and suggestions, you'll have a migraine just thinking about it. You can get used to asking (be polite) for a seperate check, I did.

You can get great lights cheap. The main thing for rear red light is the flashing to get driver's attention. ( I even have a bell, really helps when coming up on walkers, or walkers with dogs, strollers etc. etc.) A good white/clear flashing headlight also.Enjoy the ride !
