Re: Unsure where to start with 401k choices

Thanks again for all the help! I think y'all are probably right that there's not much benefit to international funds in this account. Will go with the VINIX and see what she wants to do about the bonds. She's in her 50s so I don't want to be too aggressive stock wise.

Unsure where to start with 401k choices

Hi Bogleheads, I'm trying to help out a family member with sorting through her 401k choices. I think I've converted her to the idea of a three fund portfolio and would like some input on the best options out of the list below. I know the ERs aren't the best with the exception of that one lonely Vang...

Re: Newbie investor hoping for portfolio advice

Thanks Nedsaid for your input! TD Ameritrade does offer a dividend reinvestment program, which I believe is free of fees. There are 30 international funds on the TDA commission free list in total but I would be looking at these to transition to a 3 fund portfolio: -iShares MSCI ACWI ETF (ACWI)(0.33%...

Re: Newbie investor hoping for portfolio advice

Wow, thanks so much for the great responses! I had a few follow up thoughts and questions: -For my Roth IRA, I think I'll be leaving at TD Ameritrade since I like how easy their platform is to use. I do agree that I need to simplify my holdings. I would like to create a 3 fund portfolio, but looking...
