GISC Changes to Vanguard Technology ETF

Since the recent GISC changes,I do not see FB, GOOG, EA ,ATVI, Ebay as current holdings. Is there any reason to modify VGT holdings and buy some Vanguard Communications? What % of appreciation did these stocks represent in VGT before the change?

Re: Any reason to leave the 401(k) with previous employer open

I have never left investments in a 401-K plan, because the funds offered were not funds I would buy, and/or the fees were much higher than my funds at Vanguard. One plan through ADP with Goldman Sachs funds/fees. OUCH! A lady came to work at the bank, and had a 401-K at her previous employer. She as...

Re: 30 basis points in admin fees for 401-K?

That is not bad for company, portfolio of that size.

My last 401-K had .65 administrative fees.

The one prior to it was .75, but employer paid the fees on it.

Re: I'm an indexer... but...

I once owned T Rowe Price Blue Chip Growth Fund (TRBCX) in a 401-K ,and it performs a little better than PRGFX over last 10,5,3,1,YTD.

Fee is slightly higher at 3 basis points per year.

I would consider TRBCX also, if LC Growth meets a criteria.

Re: 401k investment choices

If you have other accounts to hold the other pieces of your portfolio then you might only need one fund. Go with the cheap one. No need to mirror all holdings in all accounts. Geat advice. Lower the 401-K fees as much as possible. Write down, or create spreadsheet for all of your investments and ca...

Re: So someone drained $13k from my checking account...

One should never use Debit or ATM cards when out of country. I agree with your other recommendations. But this one does not work. When you are out of the country, you have to get local cash somewhere for places that do not accept credit cards. And if you travel for a long time, you don't want to ta...

Re: VG wants everyone to transfer to a brokerage account?

I changed to brokerage account shortly after it was first "offered". It has not effected me in a negative way. I do not think the business philosophy at Vanguard is to do anything detrimental to clients. They have lowered fund mgmt. fees on some funds in the last couple of years,so maybe the brokera...

Re: So someone drained $13k from my checking account...

Sorry for your headache on the $13k I work for a bank on the operations side, and I do not own a debit card, nor an ATM card. Debit Card/ATM card fraud is a constant problem, and one I do not want to deal with. One should never use Debit or ATM cards when out of country. One should never click on an ...
