Re: Variable Percentage Withdrawal (VPW)

I'm seeking the help of an iPad user who could explain how to copy and modify the worksheet in this device. There seems to be an app for this...haven't tried myself though. https://support.google.com/docs/answer/6000292?co=GENIE.Platform%3DiOS&hl=en This worked for me on iPad using the native Apple...

Re: highly compensated employee (HCE) Time bomb?

In the past 5 years I was HCE, and maxing out 401K. Our company failed the test each one of these years. Every following year around February I would receive a check for over contributed amount from our 401k plan, minus tax. The amount varied from few hundred, to around $3.5K, I guess depending how ...

Re: One bad decision - examples?

Here’s an example for you: In the year 2000 the company I worked for closed and I moved $72k from the 401k to rollover IRA .With all the investment options that became available, I invested into a leveraged mutual fund that doubled the performance of Nasdaq. Being a smart young man, I figured it wou...

Not mentioned yet: Infiniti Q60 IPL convertible. Although they’ve been discontinued and would have to be 4-5 years old. Were available with manual transmission.

Re: Durable non-stick cookware suggestions?

Calphalon Unison series.
No longer made but still being clearanced here and there, not too difficult to find new. In my opinion, head and shoulders above other non-stick cookware. Quality is apparent as soon as you pick one up. Check reviews on Amazon, etc . Made in USA too.

Re: You Invest by JP Morgan Chase

Has anyone sucessfully obtained the 60K UR bonus for opening a Sapphire banking account and transferring $$ there ? My UR bonus points posted about a month ago. I did not open a new account, upgraded my existing checking to Sapphire. At same time opened Youinvest account and transferred some shares...

Re: ?Admiral share availability in other brokerages?[Yes, after a few weeks they are now appearing at other brokerages.]

Just a heads up for Chase You Invest users. It looks like they added the Vanguard admiral funds as well as a bunch of Fidelity/Schwab funds this week. :happy What are the fees? Just tried to make test trades orders for VTSAX and for Schwab Total Market fund. Both available. No fees. Did not submit ...

Re: H&R Block 2018 Tax Software Deluxe $18.00 - Black Friday sale

I've always used TaxACT, download, but they charged me $100 this year with the state. I better switch, but will old data for multiple returns transfer to another program. Same here, TaxAct user for 10+ years. Current pricing for downloads is very unattractive, so purchased H&R Block for this year. ...

Re: Those who do not fly coach, where do you buy your tickets?

Go to a travel agency (e.g. Orbitz) and book a vacation package. Pick one night in the cheapest hotel and throw it away (or use it if you want too, but you only need one night). I often get hostels where the daily rate is negligible. The rates for business class tickets are/can be much lower than t...

Re: iPad vs iPadPro

You don’t necessarily need a Pro model, but they are much nicer, in my opinion. I too wanted to replace a 5 year old iPad earlier this year. At Costco display compared side-by-side non-Pro 6-gen iPad with a 10.5” 2017 Pro model. The advantage of the Pro in responsiveness, speed of launching apps, sw...

If you don't mind answering this -- are you planning to move securities to a Chase YouInvest account to meet the balance requirement ?
Yes, transfer is in process... I hope. Partial transfer required mailing of the form, not sure when I should see some transfer activity.

Re: The Final, Definitive Thread on Brokerage Transfer Bonuses

When I was at my Chase branch to upgrade my checking acct to Sapphire in response to the promotion, I was offered a choice of 60K points or $750 cash. Based on that, I am expecting a 1099 for $750 if it comes at all (I chose points).

Re: Can you change HSA contributions throughout year?

I have been changing my pay period contributions mid-year every year. At some point I just calculate when I need to adjust contribution and by how much, to hit the max allowed per year, and send in the contribution selection form.

Costco Kirkland Signature cognac is Peyrat XO, and it says so on the bottle. For about half the price.
