Highly recommend Niagara on the lake. Beautiful quaint town with wineries on the way. If you like cities, Toronto is still a hip and happening place with a lot of young energy. Check the firework schedule, it’s not everyday.

Few people get chance to build big business. If I were you, I would see if the businesses can be something substantial. Multi millionaires are a dime a dozen, few people create mid to large companies, now that is a legacy.

Yes it is very surreal when your boss spends a lot of time explaining why I got a 3% raise rather than 4%, difference of $1-2k per year. Meanwhile I am thinking my $6-7 MM NW fluctuates $10-50k daily.

While it does not apply in this case, if the deceased were residents of NJ, Class A recipients will pay no taxes. This is important planning for NY residents, could have saved $1.6 million on a $10 million estate.

If atleast 3 people in car, call EZ pass and signup for Carpool. Then use Cash lanes and tell them about carpool at all NJ to NY crosssings, will be cheaper. Don't take verrazano bridge back, it is one way toll and hefty.

High barriers to entry. You have to work under a licensed plumber for 5 years before you can be a licensed plumber. They only take their family and buddies for apprenticeship. Keeping it to themselves.

That sounds incorrect based on everything I have read about it, as long as p/t employees work less than 1000 hrs per year, solo 401k is ok.

Similar situation like you OP. Don’t want to get hit with pro rata issues. Don’t want to roll over IRA money into employer 401k plans, the actual fees paid are too opaque and could be more costly than any benefit of Roth.
