US Growth just merged with Morgan Growth, maybe that accounts for the increased returns? maybe look at the holdings vs Primecap which might have more tech and/or healthcare stocks

Call Vanguard and find out if theres a Flagship Rep assigned. Maybe look into Vanguard’s Personal Advisory Service, maybe they can prepare a Financial Plan for you to consider. You can always say no.

When I transitioned my 20 year old Vanguard account to Vanguard Brokerage Services, it automatically reset my cash option to reinvest and I had to manually go back and change them to my preferences.

I wish that Vanguard PAS would make investing in International Bond Fund optional, instead of all but mandatory in their Financial Plans.

US News shows VG Total Bond Fund has 8% International. VG Core Bond Fund has almost 16% International.

Back in 1980-2000, my parents bought a few different High Yield Bond funds. Not sure why, maybe International Bond Funds weren't yet available or weren't being marketed.

Is the PAS advisor more available when you call than an assigned Flagship Rep? Do you get a voicemail with a PAS rep or have to schedule online to talk? Does the PAS make the assigned Flagship Rep superfluous?

I tried to keep it simple. I view this trad ira spearate from my other holdings because Im taking RMD’s. The advice came from a VG rep. Been advised to rebalance my traditional ira stock portion (40 percent lg cap Blend)to VG Developed Markets, an international fund. Anyone have international in a traditional ira? Would that change if you were currently taking RMDs?

Thats helps. I think I’d also get some kind of SPIC brokerage insurance with Vanguard, although somewhat concerned about having all my eggs in one basket, (ie Vanguard) after what happened to Lehman Brothers.

I have a Vanguard Variable Annuity i bought in the mid 1990s. Currently invested in its versions of S&P 500 Index and Total Bond Index. I was advised by a Vanguard CFP to change those investments to International Funds. Not sure why, other than VG likes International funds.

Apart from consolidation, is there any advantage to transferring Dividend Reinvestment Plan Stocks that are currently held at Computershare or with their respective companies, such as P&G, Exxon, First Energy etc to Vanguard? Is there any disadvantage, ie losing the drip plan?

Bloomberg tv interviewed Bill Gross and aired last Friday, the day he retired. they may repeat the interview or it may be on Bloombergs website. Gross talked about that he recently learned that he has Asbergers.

When I did the transition, it automatically reset ALL my funds to “reinvest”. I had to manually go back and set certain funds back to “cash”.

I spoke with a VG rep who indicated that converting to brokerage added more SPIC (?) protection. The protection is based per account. I saw today that Citizens online has 2.35 percent, dont know how they compare with Marcus. I opened a Marcus acount inline it was easy and I didnt have to call and wait in hold forever like when I dealt with Synchrony.

Last fall, after constant upgrade reminders, I converted an inherited IRA to a VG Brokerage Account. Does it make sense to have a Federal MMF which has lots of treasuries, in an IRA? I think a Federal MMf is a mandatory Settlement Fund.

I went with HSA Authority last summer because it seemed cheapest to access Vanguard funds, specifically Wellington Admiral at a $1000.00 entry. I then learned of Fidelity. Havent decided yet to transfer or not, was waiting to hear some Fidelity reviews.

As far as I can tell.. they appear to be Vanguard-branded non-index actively managed funds :shock: What is the catch here? Other than past performance doesn't necessarily equate to future gains. Not prognosticating or market timing, but with all the news of the anticipated Fed rate hike at the March 14-15 Fed meeting, is the anticipated rate hike already being factored in to Bond fund prices, or will they drop much further after the rate hike is announced? in particular VOHIX, VBIIX and GNMA.
