Often times the thread starts saying a friend but it could be a family member or themselves. With the latter I mean moving the money to use in a different country and then moving it back later. So it is better to focus on potential hassles than risk as the poster has mentioned.

Most likely a clog. Had same issues before when I moved into my house. You can recreate it easily by putting a hose into gutter. If you can reach the elbows, an auger will do the trick or just a thin stick. Remember to hose it down if you can to be sure. Issue comes when some Elbows are unreachable ...

Just got two new lanterns and entire assembly. Cost about $230 in all but everything is back to normal. Wish lantern makers were more easily identifiable for future replacements. Thanks all.

Through a local light fixture store found a glass shop. Unfortunately they only do flat glass; mine is a dome shaped and thus has curves. Trying to find the manufacturer and buying replacement glass from them may be easier.

Big Sky near Bozeman Montana is a good mountain resort. Close enough to Yellowstone to be used as a base camp of sorts too, only about 1.5 hrs. Should be within a days drive from Portland easily.

If interested in graduate school later, UM will likely be the better choice for CS as you may get better research experience while a UG student there.

You can always take some off the table now and keep some to hedge your risks. Since your amount is on the smaller side I would leave it alone. My advise would be to focus more time on increasing your cash flow so you have bigger amounts to invest in the future.
