Access to closed funds no longer a Flagship benefit?

I noticed having access to closed funds once you hit flagship status ($1m+) is no longer listed. I checked to see if they may be moved the benefit to the $5m tier but nothing there either. Does anyone know if this is no longer a benefit or did they simply stop advertising it but if you ask they'll a...

Re: Selling at a loss to gain on taxes and move to tax efficient accounts?

I want to sell the shares I've purchases VTI, VEU, jaenx, and prdsx basically all my shares I purchased last month which are now negative. Sell all those, be able to report it as a loss for my 2018 taxes. Take the proceeds and make a contribution to my 2017 401k to max it out, I'll probably just thr...

Selling at a loss to gain on taxes and move to tax efficient accounts?

Hi everyone I have quite a bit of money in a regular brokerage account and I just got myself a Individual 401k as I'm self-employed. VTI, VEU, a mid-cap and small cap mutual fund (those took a freaking dive today lol) are the funds in my regular non tax advantage acount. I still have about $10k left...

Re: Vanguard adviser recommends 4 fund portfolio

I talked with Vanguard adviser and asked her about if I were to higher their service, how would they construct my portfolio. My question is: What does Vanguard paid service offer that we can't do it ourselves? This is of course you are not averse to re-balancing etc etc, this service may add value ...

Re: Self-Employed retirement options...confused

Hi I think that makes sense although I don't see where it says it's only 20% for schedule C filer everything I'm reading says 25%. Using bankrate's solo 401k calculator and selecting sole proprietor indicates I can invest up to $25,434 although I'm not sure they are arriving at that if I put in $18k...

Re: Self-Employed retirement options...confused

Hi Livesoft, I'm owner/operator no employees. No, but you're looking at it backward. Your income and the amount you contribute to the employer plan decides how much you can contribute to your personal Roth IRA. Hi can you explain this further? How would it determine my person Roth IRA, I thought as ...

Self-Employed retirement options...confused

Hey everyone. Can someone please shed some light on what would be my best option for self-employed retirement plan. I currently make about $40k net income on my schedule C. I already contribute maximum $5,500 to a Roth IRA and throw whatever I have left over minus keeping a 6 month emergency fund in...

Wellington vs Wellington Admiral shares

Hey guys I sold off my bond fund (BND) but would still like a little bond exposure but really that's not what my question is about. I'm trying to pick between VWENX and VWELX. They seem pretty similar main difference being expense ratio of 0.16 for admiral vs 0.25 for investor shares but admiral sha...

Should I always invest everything I can at once?

Hello everyone sorta new here but been investing for a while just index funds and a REIT I had a bunch of money squirrelled away in a savings account not doing much 1% rate, I moved half $80k into the market and invested half into my funds already last Friday. With the other $40k sitting in my broke...
