$20,000 emergency fund in bonds or MM?

My wife and I have a $20,000 emergency fund holding in our savings account. We want to protect against inflation and are looking into either VG VMMXX Money market or VG VTAPX ( short term inflation protected securities index). What's the pros and cons of each? Thank you.

Where to allocate a $20,000 emergency fund

Wife and I currently have a $20,000 emergency fund in a Credit Union savings account. Where would be the best place to allocate this money for it to grow and remain liquid if needed? Would a money market account be a prudent choice? Thank you.

Stock/bond split for a 35 year old

Looking at a time base target retirement plan. The 2045 plan has my wife and i at 90% stock 10% bonds. Is that far to aggressive? should I be considering maybe a 80/20 split? Thank you.

Re: Vanguard Target Retirement 2045 Fund (VTIVX) Question

Does this fund automatically readjust to bonds as the years go by or do i need to do it manually each year? Thank you again for the quick replies.

Would this fund be a safe place to start for someone who is 35 that has no IRA currently? I have alot of catch up to do, and i heard some positive things about this particular fund. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

p.s I plan to max out at $5500 a year
