It baffles me how many people blindly remain with companies out of loyalty; particularly insurance companies. I routinely shop for all of my insurance policies. USAA has not been able to touch GEICO for auto or any of the companies I have used for homeowners. They are almost always double the price....

Keep an eye out for better deals. Purchased Michelin tires from Costco at the end of October and received $150 off vs. the $110 off they are offering now. I have owned multiple sets of Michelin tires. I've always been extremely satisfied.

Went 15k between changes last year using a very high-quality synthetic (Amsoil) and oil analysis reports to support my extended drain intervals. Absent the oil analysis, I would follow my owner's manual which calls for 10k mile or 1 year, whichever comes first. The owner's manual is your bible.

Were you locked in? Rates and terms are always subject to change and will fluctuate from day to day or even hour to hour until you actually lock in your rate. I recently refinanced with Aimloan (3.00% with a $950 lender credit) and once I locked, the terms never changed.

We recently closed on a VA Streamline ReFi with AimLoan. We went from a 30-year at 4.0% to a 30-year at 3.0% with $957.00 in lender's credits which washed out the lender's fees. Overall, I was very happy with the process.

I just refinanced a $355k loan with Aimloan after numerous recommendations from BH. I went from a 30-year at 4% to a 30-year at 3% with a $1000 lender credit. The loan was closed in about 28 days. Very smooth process.

I think you need to take a long, hard, look at your budget. You should easily be able to max your accounts with $190,000 in combined income - even in a HCOL area. Refinancing to a higher interest rate/longer term loan would not be the answer.
