Dave Ramsey is part psychologist. He understands in order to get somebody out of debt, they need to see quick results. Without quick wins, a person will give up and never change their behavior. It might be terrible advice for Boglehead, but not for the average American drowning in debt.

My boredom at Megacorp led me to find another job in the same Megacorp but doing something different....I start the new job next week. We'll see if it was a mistake, but sitting around for weeks at a time with nothing to do was mentally taxing. At least I keep my seniority and vacation days.

We purposely moved to the "better school district" as an alternative to private school. We overpaid for our house and our taxes are higher, but it will still be alot cheaper than if we sent them to private school. Money well spent IMO

Overruns can happen very easily. Ensure you stick to your budget throughout the build or you could have to come out of pocket at the end to cover the difference. They do a separate appraisal at the end of the build and sometimes the value of the home can go down.

No problems with them however they are not primary bank. Ally is only where I store my emergency cash in their savings account. I also use it to fund other accounts for free promotional deals and after receiving the bonuses, I bring the money back to Ally. :moneybag

We stayed at the Turtle Bay on the North Shore of Oahu 12 years ago. Was amazing and loved being away from Honolulu. Rented a Jeep 4x4 and went exploring everyday. Don't know how much has changed since then.

Hello, Traveling to Colorado on Saturday and have booked an SUV with Enterprise. They told me "90% of our fleet has 4x4/AWD" I NEED a 4x4 for traveling to our ski resort and cannot get Enterprise to guarantee me a 4x4 vehicle. Other car rental outlets are the same way, they won't guarantee anything....

Unfortunately for Ally, there is no reason to get their card considering citi double cash and fidelity cards. They should consider 2.5% cash back on everything if paid into an Ally bank account. I work for Megacorp, trying to get a new position where I am a grade lower and just hoping to make the same amount I make now.

I commute 30 minutes each way, the new job is 5 minutes. Commuting sucks, I will take a small pay cut for more time with the family.
