Transferring money between my Vanguard accounts

I have two Vanguard accounts - a brokerage account and a Roth account. I would like to fund my 2021 Roth contribution from money that is in my brokerage account. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?

Thanks

Re: When to stop being "concerned"

Philosophically, in life there is always something to be concerned about. There are simply too many things out of your control. However, this is financial forum, and from a financial or asset allocation perspective I believe that you can stop worrying when you have 10 years of expenses socked away i...

Re: Fidelity customer protection guarantee-void if you use Mint?

In my opinion, using any service which aggregates credentials from all your financial institutions carries an unacceptable level of risk. If the aggregator's database is ever compromised, all your accounts are compromised. No way I ever want to try to clean up that mess. I'll pass.

What a bunch of crybabies. Things happen. If you are truly a "stay the course" investor, surely your plan can survive this minor inconvenience.

Re: Personal Car for Business Travel

Even if one was involved in an accident, how would the insurance company know where, and in what capacity the insured was traveling? They don't ask, they don't care, it's all a numbers game to them, and you are one of a 100 claims filed every day. So why open a can of worms by volunteering informati...

Re: Portfolio thoughts

I have no advice for you, I just wanted to let you know that there are (a few) kindred spirits here. When I started reading this board, frankly, I was demoralized. It seemed like every other post started with "I make 350k and have 2M in my portfolio..." and that just seemed so far out of m...

Re: Personal Car for Business Travel

I would call my car insurance first. They may not cover you if you use your car for business. I have to disagree with this. Occasional travel to remote work locations is not considered commercial use of a vehicle. Examples of commercial use are things like: pizza delivery, taxi/uber, plumber's van,...

Re: Favorite S&P/Global Dividend Single Stocks?

I like the T/VZ combination. Both paying dividends over 4.5% right now. Combined, T and VZ own 68% of the US wireless market. For me, this a SWAN no-brainer - just don't expect much in the way of capital appreciation.

Re: Lexus PreCollision Safety System (auto braking)

The answer to your question is an unequivocal YES. This a financial forum, so naturally people here tend to look at things from that perspective, but money is at best a distant third when it comes to important things in life. Number 1 is health. If the system saves you from a collision which causes ...

Re: How to simplify Prime Harvest?

If she's not able to perform multiplication...
She can do multiplication, but she is not web-savvy and may have trouble determining annually-compounded CPI.

Regardless, reading the responses and reflecting further, I have come to the conclusion that Prime Harvest in any form is unsuitable for her.

How to simplify Prime Harvest?

Michael McClung's Prime Harvesting strategy makes a lot of sense to me, and I would like to recommend it to a neighbor of mine. She is in her 60's and doesn't have family to help her out. The challenge I have is that she is not "mathematically inclined", is not familiar with CPI, and will ...

Re: Requirements to change passwords frequently?

The only time passwords should be reset is when they are forgotten, if they have been phished, or if you think (or know) that your password database has been stolen and could therefore be subjected to an offline brute-force attack.
