ibkr light is available in usa, for less frequent traders. Perhaps in Europe too. I like them in all your priorities. good luck

I did the same, to fit my portfolio to the current irrational exuberance of the markets by reducing s&P dominated mf 's into some inflation protection etf such as vym, vpu and vde (energy group dominated by chevron after all Buffet bought it) , with etfs I will be able to sell higher strike dist...

smart people saw unwarranted shorting, bought hat stock and publicly posted it and made good money in case the buyer has money to pay. May be another vehicle for innovative investors.

T use ib light. no charge for stock and etf and a few covered calls that are way high expected to expire worthless in a month to generate $20 a month commission to get real time data for free. happy. thanks

scientists that were quoted in corona news letters are saying corona virus is covered by fat membrane ,vulnerable to soap suds so whichever soap you like bot hand washing with soap is highly recommend to stop the viral spread

I agree that vde etf is safer and easier to profit from oil rebound. But if you insist on futures go as far as august or so and allocare $30000 for it

19% loss a year ago may recur but now fed wants to keep interest rate low enough keep consumer spending going , downturn is unlikely. on etf s you can buy put option to protect you

To paraphrase Milton Friedman, China makes it hard for US to access their markets there by squeezing their own thighs so we retaliate with tariffs to squeeze ourselves and enjoy free roller coaster market turns in addition to possible inflation.

my bank wanted to slap $15 . We resumed to the good old way, but 2 months later we did not see any charge on an Ach transfer to vg for a large amount as the interest would offset $15 rather than wait for check clearance but, the bank did not charge any. May be they backed off based on customer feedb...

You got good advices. It would help to come up with more plans for you to choose from. if we know the reasons and urgency if any to sell the shares. If there is a need to lock in the price of stock, it may be possible to move 200 or so of them into a brokerage to sell in the money call options expir...

60% in bonds i e 30% in high yield 30% in moderate y 20% in high div stock 20% in total world hoping these wd not go down as much as 50 % or so predicted for SPY. Another advantage of etf is the ability to sell covered call during irrational exuberance of markets that may generate additional income/cushion loss in downturn etc. Jack was not too happy with etf growth rate but never wanted to reduce choices for people in USA. Thanks

Started 90% high div stock etf(vym) and 10% bond etf (vclt) but now 50 50 as intimidated by recession buzz, these etfs because it is possible to sell covered calls in upswings.

I always use limit orders, but my relative who trades more successfully than I am, uses market orders saying you may get better price for the day but what if markets start crashing tomorrow.
