What are the caps on the per year change in the ARM? How about the lifetime cap? All: The kid is going to work for a hedge fund. Likely a big one. In terms of comp, CS software engineering job at a tech firm is not the same thing. Good for him! I was not at all ready for that at age 22. Hopefully he gets some wanderlust out of his system next summer!

Just because someone gifts you 14k in a given year and you also donate 14k to your daughters 529 that same year, doesn't immediately suggest fraud. Those two actions could be entirely unrelated.

I've also heard the Yotel is very nice for the price. Other than that, I'd just cruise trip advisor or kayak and jump on the cheapest price option in a location you find reasonable. Not worth going out to Long Island City to save $75 a night.
