https://www.dialahuman.com/

This site supposedly gives you the phone number to speak to a human at all different companies. I’ve yet to try it for myself.

Re: Is it worth to relocate for retirement?

1) Property tax: $780 a year for a pretty average house (that is not a typo). We live in one of the few counties that exempts seniors from paying school property taxes. It varies a lot but in other nearby counties without the senior exemption the property tax on a similar house would likely be aroun...

Re: Why do you invest and what are you investing for?

I invest because I don’t like the taste of cat food. At least I don’t think I do. Lol. Realistically invest for my wife and kids future. I have a pension that’s enough for us while I’m around. But I like to show my kids to be self reliant and dont rely on somebody else taking care of you. Be able to...

This is a lemon chicken with artichokes. It’s one of the few meals all of my kids enjoy.

Escape From The Ordinary by Julie Bradley.
It’s a true story about a couple that buy a sailboat and sail the world upon retirement.
I’ve been having issues making it thru books lately but this book has grabbed my attention.
I’m halfway thru and am interested in each new chapter.

Re: Moving from active to index

Thank you FiveK. Im not familiar with step up. I know my mother and fathers names are on both the Schwab account and the other company. We have notified both companies that he passed and have sent the paperwork to remove my fathers name. So I would be better off transferring all as is to Schwab and ...

Moving from active to index

Hello all and thanks in advance for any guidance. My father recently passed away and he handled my parents finances. I had spoken to him about getting away from actively traded funds but he never did it. My mother has Schwab accounts and I’m looking (with my mother’s permission) to move around $100,...

I use the body coach hiit workouts on YouTube. Most are about 20 minutes long and most you don’t need any equipment. Go to YouTube and check him out. It’s free.

Consider having at least 2 detectors. If only one goes off chances are it’s a battery or detector issue. They are inexpensive. Protect yourself and your family.

Cashing in on the American dream. The book is from 1988 so the #s are outdated but the ideas still apply. Mark cuban speaks highly of this book.

Re: What Book Are You Currently Reading? Part VI

I just finished “the Buy side: a wall street traders tale of excess”. I enjoyed it. Read it in about a week.

I also recently read “ breaking and entering” which was about a hacker from MIT. also enjoyable.

I really enjoy seeing what others are reading.

Re: 401k or 457B and Roth or Regular

So are there any advantages of a roth 401k over a Roth 457? I have access to both. I’m hoping not to ever need this money. I’m hoping to leave this to my kids. I also do a regular 457 and I have a pension. Thanks.

Where to put tax free settlement money

I will be receiving a tax free settlement of $80,000 in the near future. I'm looking to give $20,000 to each of my 3 kids for college (2 in high school and 1 already in college). The rest of the money I'm considering some house maintenance and saving the rest. I have a civil servant so I have job se...

Re: Should I setup a bi-weekly mortgage payment?

I know this is an old topic but I have a question. If the mortgage company doesn't apply the 1st payment each month to your mortgage until they receive the full monthly amount, is that still a true biweekly mortgage plan? Would it be false advertising if they called it that?
