Re: Better Refinance AMEX $2500 Credit Questions

You should apply for the card before doing the application with Better.com. I did an application with them before I knew about the AMEX deal and I asked them if I could open a card and add the deal to my account and they are refusing.

I don't have an AMEX card and I've locked in a rate with Better.com but haven't closed yet, can I still get this deal? Wouldn't this be a bad time to apply for an AMEX during the refi process? Others have mentioned they applied for a card after locking. Just let better.com know what you are doing. ...

Choose 2.125 rate with 5,100 fee or 2.5 with 1,699 fee?

Hi guys, I'm debating which refinance rate to lock in. I can choose 2.125 with 5,100 fee and APR of 2.693 or 2.5 with 1,699 fee with APR of 2.767. 3.0 rate would have 0 fees. I'm going from 30 year to 15, current balance of 168k. I plan on keeping the house the entire time. Any suggestions? My tende...

Hello, Does anyone do any pre-market trading in particular ETF's? On days like today where the Dow surges right off the bat I feel like this is a feature I would like to take advantage of. Enter the 20k on line 16a and 15k on 16b. Then include an explanatory statement indicating the date and amount of the Roth rollover, the date and amount of the recharcterization to the TIRA (amount is 5k) and finally what that 5k was worth went it transferred. You will get the 1099R and 5498 for th...

Your investments are just transferred in kind to the TIRA. You need to include an explanatory statement regarding this rollover and recharacterization with your 2016 return. Are you going to do the recharacterization now and then file your 2016 return thereafter? NOTE: Even though Form 8606 does NO...

Larry,

Sorry, let me provide more detail. In December I left a job and converted a 401k from Transamerica directly to a Roth IRA at Vanguard. It was never in a traditional IRA.

Can I still do a re-characterization or something else to resolve this?
