No State Income tax,,,there is a 'hall tax" on investment income.

We always managed to save 30% sometimes more while working.
Did we "need" a budget.
Maybe Not.
Quicken enabled me to zero in where monies were going.
Invaluable tool.

This Kobalt has been done the job for us.
I carry it in the Rv and use it to inflate tires if needed.
Also use it with bikes,car,etc.
Lowes had the best price last time I checked.

Isn't a 50/50 Stock/Bond AA relatively high stock allocation for most? In the book titled The Intelligent Investor why does Benjamin Graham recommend this for most folks? I think he looks at this as the optimal for most but does suggest a range. I believe his suggestion is no less than 25% in stock...
