I work for an international company and regularly travel from US to Asia. Our company stopped paying for upgraded seats almost 10 years ago. I can't even imagine asking for any PTO. You would be laughed at for even asking.

Why not roll these old Roths to your current Roth IRA? You can certainly pull out the contributions tac and penalty free and put in a 529. If you get a state tax deduction it might make sense to do so.

Be very careful borrowing money to invest. When things go south and you are leveraged up it can get very bad very quickly. Now if you put the money in your Roth in a safe bond fund then the risk is much less as you could always pull that money out and pay off the card. But if you are borrowing money...

Fidelity is not Vanguard. Vanguard mutual funds are special structure and behave more like ETF's in terms of their tax efficiency and distributions. Fidelity mutual funds are a perfect example of why you should use the ETF versions if you are worried about the tax implications of distributions.

As was already pointed out I would be worried about future local inflation and currency exchange rate changes. Any simulations that didn't take this into account would be almost meaningless. To me this would be complicated and you would need to account for what you think will happen in the next 60 y...

How well did CAPE predict 2017 return? has anyone ever claimed CAPE predicts one year returns? Read the article. People have been crying about CAPE10 for a while now. If you made it actionable and changed your asset allocation you lost out on a nice year. Myself, I'm enjoying the 2017 20% gain.

This research article by the very esteemed author from the federal reserve was extensively discussed on BH earlier this year. Search and you should be able to find the thread. The author is no dummy and it is very extensive. I would suggest people actually read it before commenting.

Schwab website says distribution yield is 0.39% (edit: this was in the app). Where are you seeing 5%? (Edit: it looks like the website is showing a high 7 day yield)

There was a very large distribution in December that is throwing off the yield calculation.

I would suggest making sure to have a Credit Karma account before doing credit freeze. You might also look into a ChexSystems freeze as well (security freeze and security alert?).

Would you rather have money in your pocket or pay monthly? All you are doing is shuffling money around, it doesn't really matter. You will have to speak to your mortgage company to understand what they will allow.

Very few funds I have ever owned in 401ks show dividends. They are almost always going to be reinvested by the funds and not distributed.
