Has anyone contacted Fidelity to confirm the representation in this link that it offers an individual HSA? The terms appear better than Lively.

“The Stars Now Unclaimed” by new writer Drew Williams. A unique premise is the setting for this space opera with a strong, very enjoyable female lead. Four stars.

Need burner phone for wife traveling in Italy

Regards to all. My wife is traveling to Italy in two weeks with a group but will have a few days by herself. I would like her to purchase a cheap “Walmart” phone with a service that would allow her to text me in the US should she need to contact me. We’ve travelled several times to Europe and I know...

Re: Good Modern Science Fiction

Spoiler alert - don't read this post if you want to fully enjoy the "Three-body Problem" trilogy. I praised this trilogy earlier in this thread. I think I understand why some people don't like the first half of the second book "Dark Forest". It is mostly about an antihero, his seemingly mindless ac...

Just purchased a truly wireless system by Axiim. Excellent build quality and sound. Uses the new WISA broadcast technology so it doesn’t tax your WiFi. 5.1 or expand to 7.1.

Re: Reverse Mortgages

I set one up last year. Yes, the fees on the front end are higher than I light, but they can be negotiated. I currently have a $50 balance and my plan is to leave it at that while the amount of the line of credit will rise by an annualized 4%. My concern was that in 15 years my home value would not ...

Is dent repair service worth it?

I have a 2009 Infiniti ex35 to sell which has a pretty good dent in the fender, otherwise in good condition. The paint did not crack. Wholesale value is around $8-9K. A dent repair service will charge $350.00 to remove it, however my fear is that there will still be some residual evidence of the den...

Re: Reverse Mortgage Considerations

I have studied the reverse mortgage line of credit, and come to the tentative conclusion to get once my wife is 62. (Yes, I can remove her from the title and do it now, but it undermines the ability to draw on it in 20 years, as we want the option to do.) My idea is to pay the several thousand dolla...

I have studied the HELOC RM for the purpose of taking advantage of the automatic appreciation built into the formula for the loan. The amount you can draw increases each year according to the 4% automatic increase applied to the value of the house. This occurs regardless of whether the house is in a...

I bought one once but never made a claim on it. I regretted it more each day. Put the cost of the warranty in an account for repairs and you have the best of both worlds - preparation for the expense and the potential for keeping the money.

Contact the lawyer who represented you in the arbitration case. He knows the background and can most effectively shut down what sounds like an attempt to create an issue where there is none.

New job + much lower income predicted = tIRA conversion question

I just left my firm and started a solo practice. I’ve done this before and I know that it will take several months to establish an income stream. This presents the probability of less income and a lower tax bracket for 2017, but that’s okay as I have savings to support my family. I am thinking that ...

Re: Car Guy question

I'm curious what a warranty costs for one of these Audis. I researched the warranties and culled out those with third party administrators, the suspicion being that they earn their fee by denying claims. Then I decided what one major repair would cost, and put that in the range of $2k-$4k. With tho...

I don't mean to be disrespectful. However, this is the situation you "signed up for" when you bought that type of car. You knew in advance that this time would come, and you should have made up your mind in advance how you would handle it. Planning ahead is a worthwhile thing to do. While this is o...

Car Guy question

A recent topic discussed how many miles some of you had on your vehicles. That dovetails into a situation I am confronting. I own a 2010 Audi Q5 with 78K miles, which I bought off ebay with 10K in 2011. It has been a great vehicle and it has not had any major repair issues, or minor ones to critical...

Is Iphone/Ipad fingerprint signin reasonably secure?

A recent thread on the use of security keys got me to thinking about the iphone/ipad Vanguard app with the fingerprint sign in option. Books to help prepare us for the inevitable aging process

'Time's winged chariot' pretty much sums up the motivation for this post. I am in search of books to read tha...

Is retirement a serious option for me?

I am 61 and in a profession. I am at a point where I might have to leave my current position and go with another firm or set up my own shop. The desire to do that is not what it once was. Another option is to retire a bit earlier than planned, but it involves a degree of risk, so I wanted to request...
