You have to realize most dividends are quarterly not monthly

Fidelity, Vanguard and Schwab are all good choices with various pluses and minuses but roughly equivalent.
as long as you use the index funds, Fidelity has funds that look like a index but are not.

I am just going to retire when I feel like I need to retire. If I feel like I do not like working anymore, It is to boring, better things to do with my time I am out. Every time I run my numbers I am leaving to much to my kids so need to adjust for that.

No, I had already learned in the 08, 09 timeframe that that losing 50% of your portfolio looks bad but just keep on investing.

I have put 50% of my bonus into my 401k for years. My company trues up the match so I am done contributing to the 401k by August/September and just invest in taxable after that. Make sure your company trues up if not figure out how to contribute for the rest of the year and not go over the limit to ...

this may seem odd but to stop rebalancing to many times I only do it January 1 and July 4. it stops me from messing around with the investment to much and smooths it out.

She cant work out a discount on medical bill and a payment plan to avoid bankruptcy.

I would literally tell the medical bill folks if you can not work out some plan and discount I am going for bankruptcy and you will get nothing. It should motivate them to take action.
