16% is about right some will have more some will have less but you are about average,

just realize we have not seen a real correction since 2008, 2009 were everyone lost 30 to 50% of there portfolio.

I only coincided the the funds that I have control over as my retirement funds, 401k, iras Roths and taxable. I do not add the payed off house or the pension since I need to live somewhere and don't know if the pension will be there when I am 65.

if I were just doing a taxable account it would be in VTSAX total stock market investor or admiral. Just a very tax efficient fund.

The target date is not as tax efficient due to the Bonds in the fund. Although not many at 2060

Just for this year put $5500 into a Roth IRA account for both you and your wife. Next year invest max in your 401k and the Roth for for you and your wife if you can.

I like the fridge you got. Level could make a differences. My guess is it is a 315 model which is the lowest of the Whirlpool Side by Side so they do not include any sound package in it. (yes They can control sound)

Just move the 30K loss is to big and it gets you living were you want to be.

I see you bring up a AC issue in your post. Window units do not cost much and can do the job. I used them with my first two houses then my 3rd put in a house AC not a big deal and did not cost that much.

Every year you should get a raise, jut take 1 to 2 % of the raise and add it to your 401k. You will still get some increase in spending creep but you have already lived on the lower income.
