What? cereal for dinner is awesome as long as its not out of necessity. :sharebeer
I regularly eat cereal as part of my lunch at home, either Honey Bunches of Oats with almonds or raisin bran. Very cheap.
I expected people to rise in defense of Chef Boyardee but not so far…
I was in the military for 20 yrs. I had stuff while deployed that makes Chef Boyardee taste like it actually was prepared by a chef
I recall, in the Pacific Theater, in WWII, K rations, B D S boxes contained a small bar in the D (Dinner) box called tropical chocolate. Hard as nails but lasted for several hours. Delicious.

Thick steak; dry with paper towels, salt and pepper all sides.
Heat lightly oiled cast iron skillet until it smokes (need outdoor-venting range hood)
Put on steaks for 2.5 min; DON'T TOUCH they will release
Cook other side for 2 min
Put skillet in 450 degree oven for 4-6 min depending on how rare/well you want it
Take out; tilt pan and melt butter; spoon over steak for a minute
Put on plate, cover with foil and let rest for 10 min
Enjoy!
This except microwave instead of oven.

VUSXX (Treasury Money Market Fund)

Will someone please enlighten me as to what actions the managers of VUSXX (Treasury Money Market Fund) take to optimize the interest rates on this fund?

I assume, based upon my scant knowledge, they buy new issues at opportune moments to try and maintain pace with Treasury increases. I also assume there is a lag time to accomplish this.

Is that about the extent of managerial activity? Any comment to enlighten me will be appreciated. I am aware this is trivial to most of you but please bear with me.

Our strategy has always been (for now) just 90% VTSAX, 10% VTBLX and call it a day. However, my wife has itchy fingers and wants to buy single stocks. I've turned to you guys because, I honestly don't really know what to buy (which I feel is a good thing!) I was thinking throwing it all in BRK.B, because that technically is a single company. Hello, I am a first-time poster to this forum, and I have a question about 55+ communities, also known as "active adult" or "age restricted" communities. My wife and I are in our late 50's, and we are seriously considering buying a house in a 55+ community in North Carolina to be closer to family. One concern we have is as follows: Let's say one day we decide to sell our age-restricted home when we are in our 70s or 80s...will there be any buyers out there? People our age in the "baby boomer" generation will probably be selling their homes like we would be doing, and the Millennials won't be old enough to buy into a 55+ community....and who knows if Millennials would even want to live in an age-restricted comm...

What will you cherish so much more after this? I'm going to visit friends back home, especially my folks. And I think I'll cherish the idea of community and "togetherness", in all it's forms, much more once this is over. Being amongst people at a coffee shop, interacting with colleagues at work, seeing everyone bustle around a mall or people enjoying a sunny day strolling along the beach. Yes...I trust MS...just as much as I trust Apple...or for that matter, Vanguard or Fidelity or Schwab or TDAmeritrade. I believe they all do a pretty decent job at what they do. None are perfect; every one of them has made mistakes....especially VG. IMHO you should upgrade your Windows devices and stay current. I like W10...as much as I like Apple’s OS. Each is very good in their own way. Upgrade, update, stay current. It’s your fault if you get a virus that could have been prevented. Have a great weekend. If it is a restaurant where most people eat in, I usually tip $1-2 if I have a take out order, since someone has to box up my food and put it in a bag for me. I don’t tip at places like Panera or Five Guys, or the Gucci donut shop where the guy puts 6-12 donuts in a box for me. I also ignore the “suggested tipping amounts” on the bottom of receipts and tip what I feel to be appropriate (20% for good or better service, 15% for average service, and less for subpar or unacceptable service). I’m usually pretty easy to please though. I’ve only spoken to the manager one time, and that was after we had already left, and after I had only tipped $5 on a $100+ bill. I’m retired and I take it everywhere I go. Can’t believe I waited so long. Haven’t touched my laptop or my girlfriends since.
How many girlfriends are involved?

What "new technology" ? Computers? Commonplace applications at least from the 1950s. Desktops in the 1980s.

Perhaps this has been suggested, but I did not note it.

In my state, an assessor (titles may vary) who inspects the suitability/livability of a home for sale (a requirement in my state) probably knows the people to repair any discrepancy - large and small). These assessors have seen it all.

Might be worth it to contact one for the a reference for the job..

Oh Yes. All the days were golden. Mine included combat in WWII and Korea. Radiation exposure at Bikini nuclear tests in 1946. A service connected disablement award - tax free. Not worth it.There's more. We government employees had it made. No problems. I was drafted twice but Recruiting offices are open if you wish to indulge. :happy :D
