Re: Refinance Mega Thread

Was anyone offered 2.5% from Owning and does not have 50% LTV? Their website shows 2.5% for 30 year fixed, but I am being quoted higher due to the LTV condition. I am about to close on a 2.5% 30 year conventional this Wednesday. When I submitted for the rates I was closer to 60% LTV, but with the a...

Re: Refinance Mega Thread

Hey guys, Just locked in a 2.5% conventional 30 year fixed with Owning.com. Since I have over 50% equity, they didn't charge me the 0.25% origination charge. Absolutely no closing costs at all: No origination, No title charges, No recording charges. They gave me lender credit of $1104.00 to cover a...

Re: The unicorn mortgage: 30 year fixed under 3%

Just locked a 2.625% 30 year fixed VA IRRRL. 0 points, Funding Fee Exempt, and no origination fees. Just have to pay for Title Fees and Recording Fee. That's awesome! Congrats. Thanks! Pennymac was trying to retain business since they saw a credit inquiry and knew I was shopping. The loan officer w...

Re: What is/ was your career and would you recommend it now?

My career: 1. Military Officer 2. Federal Law Enforcement Officer 1. Served as a Bomb Technician for 5 years. Highly recommend military service, although as an enlisted guy, I probably would have done less admin and more down range ops, but I can't complain. Best years of my life after college: blow...

Re: Are you refinancing now?

Went on Zillow and found BNC National Bank and will be closing and signing final docs tomorrow on a VA 30-year cash out refi @3.125% with a $1000.00 lender credit. Closed in 45 days. I've done five (5) VA refi's since I purchased my home in 2014. This one was a little longer, but since I was doing a...

Re: Should I do ROTC?

The only thing I would add is that if you want to stay current within the "engineering" field, then I would recommend the NUPOC program. My friend who is a surface nuclear officer is still in the mix even as a department head (mid to senior level manager). He still needs to be in the know and knowle...

Re: Should I do ROTC?

Lots of good questions. It all depends on what your goals are in the end. I ended up doing the Navy ROTC program out of a Southern California university and only served 5 years as I knew I wouldn't make a career out of the military. I graduated in 2006 with a molecular biology degree and was plannin...
