i did the samething. In addition, my company offers a non-qualified retirement saving proram. We can save 50% into our 401k fore aft tax account until reaches 66000 IRS limit, then non-qualified retirment. The best of best is this are before tax. So inddition to IRS $20000+$6000 catch up before tax limit, we can additional before tax saving which effectively reduce my taxable income. Yes cash flow will be tight but mega backdoor IRA and additional tax saving put us in good FIRE path.

Because of decades of low inflation, We missed another asset class: The inflation protected asset (Tips, Comoedities and real estate). In 2022, this asset class return is positive. Better than cash return. So equity, fix income, inflation protected asset, cash are four asset classes. In many companies 401k plan, this class is real asset fund.

My spending budget is vey flexible. Could be barely minimal or maximum. I will feel more comfortable with 200k/year inflation adjusted. We will have pensions and SS total 100k To fill the gap of 100k we would need 2.5mil at 4% withdraw rate. I also want to help kids in my lifetime. So 5.0 mil saving is my goal. 5.0/200k=25X.
