I will stay with my current CSR (3% traveling reward), Fidlity (2% everthing reward) and Costco Citi Visa (4% gas). I stopped applying for new cedit card, credit score jumped to 850.

BMW is so unreliable and expensive to maintain. Why don't you buy a Honda Civic Si or Mazda 3, they are fun to drive and cheap to run. 3x12x399+4000=19000 could pay for Si or Mazda 3.

Low interest. Fed sees economy slow down is coming. EPS will come. Interest cut effect in late cycle and early cycle is different.

I would say own some gold mine comany. Gold is gold. A gold mine is a gold coin print machine. let's say cost of oz gold is $1000, gold now is $1300/oz,, what if hyperinflation push gold to $2000/oz, it is a 5x EPS. I would say owning 5-10% of gold is not a bad idea.

You can plan for the future such as early retirement, do Roth rollover so your future tax is lower than today. By saving more tax now and paying less tax in the future, you can be financial independent much earlier in the future.

To be fair. I will set up 529 for each of grand.make 100k for each grand 529. then all left divide by children. However, I would they shouldn't expect any inherit. They should work with their blood and sweat. Any inherit is a windfall and might not good for them.

I rent Euro car and got speed ticket on Autobahn, yes autobahn. The fine was directly deducted form my credit card from car rental company. The second time I visited Eurpoe, I ride train. hehe, no speeding ticket.

I did. But since I rebalanced equity down due to uncertainty of the global economy. I moved all my daugther's 529 into interest only investment. She is in college and I don't want to take the risk.

For general purchase: I use Fidelity 520 2% Visa. Goes directly toward my kid college fund
For Costso shopping: I use Costco Visa 2% on general purchase,3% over eating out. 4% for gas
For traveling or eating out: I use Chase Reserve 3% on everything, 4.5% effective if you use their travel portal

You can split AA into VTSAX/VTXUS/VTWAX (30/20/50). And history will tell after 35 years. All three are great funds.

If your state has tax incentive, you should take that into account. or you can do a Mega Roth (discussed in this forum before) if you think your kids not going to college.

Just redo the kitchen. removing all the vinyl floor and replace with hickory hardwood. Very pretty and warm to walk on the bare foot. Caution should be taken for dish washer or ice maker breakdown.

Fund your retirement 1st. It will have more time to grow. Then 529, college inflation in slight above general inflation. You would target 100K for each kid at today's dollar (4 year college 25k per year).

let you stepdaughter open a Roth IRA. You will gift the 400K into her Roth every year. Also open a 529 for your step-grand and mega invest $100k now. She can use the 529 to further her education or for her future children.

Rent a car, drive along Rhein river from Koln to Bingen (Frankfurt Main). A lot a small town and castles along the river bank. Stop by Kobolenz in the middle and eat in garden at the two river joint park. Two or three days is barely enough.

If you're a U.S. investor, invested in a S&P 500 or Total Market U.S.index fund, half of your revenues already come from outside the U.S. So, you have an international fund, minus the risks (e.g. currency, sovereign, stability) and fees associated with investing in international funds. Works for me...

1999 Miata? It is a NA engine, probably require only 10W30 dino oil. There are many use high mileage oil because the gasket and valve seal are aging.
